Josh is a big lover of the arts, which is originally where his inspiration for his Gallery Tours came from. I mean, why not pair incredible artworks with great wine, great people and great food?
Last Thursday, we held our second gallery tour, and it was a hit. Clients were impressed with how delicious the wines were (all thanks to our friend Andrew Stewart at Vino al Vino) and the overall connection that prevailed. We’re happy to be doing something in the city that isn’t really being done by anyone else, and it’s a fun way to connect with clients (past or present). Our schedule consisted of a stop at Trepanier Baer, one at Masters Gallery and last, but not least, Norberg Hall.

The Wines
As per usual, Andrew curated his wine list for the evening based on each exhibit. Wanna know the picks? Les Cortis’ Mérune covered the Chardonnay front, the 2019 Cooper Mountain Pinot Noir provided a balanced, velvety feel, and Barbacan Rosso di Valtellina was a savoury, classic red. We recommend trying all three because he knocked it out of the park.

The Galleries
Each gallery had something interesting to bring to the tour, whether it was a whimsical vibe or a classic pop art experience. We viewed Carol Wainio’s Vers L’Incertitude at Trepanier Baer, a meticulous approach to mixing modernist abstraction and the applied arts. At the Masters Gallery, we got to see everything from Andy Warhol & Sunday B. Morning to iconic Canadian artwork from those in The Group of Seven. Norberg Hall featured a range of pieces from artists like Marigold Santos, Jeff Nachtigall, Rachel McFarlane and others. If you have some time one weekend, we’d highly recommend paying each of these locations a visit. They always do an amazing job!
