Spring Cleaning: Exterior Edition

While we love spring and the warm weather that it brings, there are a number of things that homeowners have to do to prepare for the change in season. With the snow slowly disappearing, we are left with lots of brown yards, making it difficult for your home to look good.

When buyers pull up to your home, this is your first opportunity to make a great impression. Curb appeal matters! Here are our top tips for ensuring that your home presents nicely.

  • Rake or clean old leaves from your lawn and front door area
  • Freshen up your exterior entranceway. This means cleaning the exterior of your door, installing an exterior mat and adding some vibrant touches like small trees and spring planters! 🌷
  • Clean your exterior windows
  • Turn on all exterior lights for showings
  • Ensure garbage and recycling bins are removed from the front of your home (if applicable)
  • Salt any ice or slippery surfaces leading to the home
  • Remove any mail or packages from the mailbox
  • 💥 Bonus tip! 💥 Make sure it smells nice when buyers enter your home. Smelly first impressions inside can ruin a good thing.
